Dawkins’ & Gideons International

Gideons International.
It was only a few days after I had read the book, Condemned that I read in a Christian resource a similar story to that of Mark Rowan. Christian minister, Roberto L. Gomez, tells his readers, “Some friends invited me to attend a Gideon’s dinner for clergy. The speaker was a middle-aged man. While in prison for illegal drugs and serving a lengthy sentence, he gladly received the Gideon New Testaments. He would tear up the New Testaments and use the fine paper for cigarettes. One day as he rolled a paper for a cigarette, he paused and read it. It was John 3:16. He had never read the Bible before, but it caught his attention. He read it over and over again. Later, he got another New Testament. He read it from cover to cover. Alone in his cell he had a conversion experience. The prison staff noticed a difference in him. He was released from prison ahead of schedule, due to his good behaviour and rehabilitation, or we could say transformation. Now he is an evangelist working with prisoners. Purified by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, the former drug dealer shares the love of Christ with others as he helps them know a better life.” That is what Christians would think of as having a personal experience with God and not as Richard Dawkins describes in TGD. We see that experience echoed in the lives of many who have given the Bible a chance and had their lives completely changed. All praise to Gideons International for the work it is doing.
