CURE
In The Sunday Times Culture Magazine 21 October 07 The God Delusion paperback was down as being in the top ten for the last 22 weeks. Black Swan £8.99 (254,000). Each week The Sunday Times provided the information: “Powerful arguments on the irrationality of and harm caused by faith.” We have had more of this in the media through 2008 and we should expect more in 2009 - the year of Darwin’s Bicentenary.Although 9/11 precipitated the flourish of attacks on religion the main focus of the attacks have been on Christianity itself. Dawkins says in TGD that his focus is on Christianity because that is the religion he is most familiar with. He was raised as an Anglican so did his home life give him these convictions? Whatever, one must ask, are his convictions that the arguments that the Christian faith is ‘irrational and causes harm’ justified? As someone who has read TGD is that what I should conclude from other things I read? Could I be hostile or even pitying towards what I read about CURE?
