Family Justice Concerns UK Campaign Successful

In a post on October 20, 2008, I published my first encounter with Family Justice Concerns  that went back to last July where I read a couple of Camilla Cavendish’s articles. They made for very disturbing reading of what can be decided behind the closed doors of officialdom. There is another side to the coin in the rightful concern to protect helpless children such as what did not happen in the case of Baby P. But what is there in the system that protects innocent parents from having a child taken away - without any right of appeal or right of defense as highlighted by The Cavendish Files?
The Camilla Cavendish campaign has been a success says The Times. The Home Secretary, Jack Straw, says that from April 2009 Family Justice Courts will be more open. “It is a move for which The Times has campaigned vociferously, arguing that keeping the media out of certain courts has led to miscarriages of justice,” - illustrated by an Andy Dolan report in the Daily Mail .
The Times says it “has received hundreds of letters from people who have been gagged and powerless to challenge the decisions of social workers and other experts.” Read the results of the campaign in The Times.
